Messages from the future

Bruno Silva, a twenty-nine-year old Brazilian man, was still working out how to understand his experience when he emailed me about six weeks following a dream about a car accident. “I woke up at 9 am from a dream that I was walking in a park at night with a friend, and after some time I decided to leave. When I went to get my car, it was completely ruined. The car’s rear was destroyed, as if something had hit it very hard. I couldn’t understand what happened because the car was parked on a large lawn and nobody but me was around.”

Bruno woke up immediately after that scene, with a strong feeling that something was off. He experienced multiple confirmations of this feeling throughout the day, and wasn’t sure if he was being paranoid or not. “After lunch, I went to my girlfriend’s house to spend the day with her. She lives in the nearby city, about 20 km from my place. When I told her about the dream she calmed me down, and we went to a birthday party. Later, we returned to her house and the uneasy feeling was back.” He decided to leave his girlfriend’s house. “It was around 1:35 am.
